Software Developer

I have been a software developer since the late 1980's.

My first development projects were using FORTRAN and a statistical package called SAS.

During the early 1990's, I worked on a number of projects using INGRES database development tools and FORTRAN routines.

However, since the mid 1990's I have concentrated on the development of desktop client-server applications using various versions of Visual Basic and Sql Server. Generally, these applications also include a degree of automation with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.

More recently, I have also developed a couple of web sites, utilising server-side VBScript and client-side JavaScript, plus HTML, DHTML and CSS. For these sites, I have included GIS functionality using MapXTreme and data visualisation using TeeChart.

As you can see, I have extensive development experience. I enjoy the challenge of developing innovative software to tight deadlines and am more than willing to work as part of a development team.
