IT Systems Infrastructure Manager

Primarily responsible for 20+ Windows NT 2000 / 2003, MS Exchange 2000 / 2003 servers and Wide Area Network comms (Leased Line and ADSL) ensuring maximum uptime and managing our in-house support team.

Supporting 250+ office based and 100 remote users in various sites around the United Kingdom using computerised systems incorporating 20+ NT4 / 2000 / exchange servers across multiple domains.

Installing and managing remote networks as required on client sites ranging from 5 ? 50 users.

Implementation of our own in house support desk including recruiting staff, implementing SLA based targets and delivering a high standard of desktop support to the user base.

During my time with JWML one of my main achievements has been the design, installation and management of the companies first Exchange 2000 server onto a new mail domain, and managed the application rollout and mail migration for all users. (Migrating all user information from Novell GroupWise to Outlook PST files for historic reference).

- Provided help desk for software and hardware queries.
- Analysed system performance, identified problems and established probable origin before taking appropriate action.
- Resolved errors for both software and hardware as and when required.
- Installed and implemented communications equipment using both Cat 5 and Fibre backbones.
- Maintained both network hardware and cabling.
- Implemented and managed backup routines in accordance with the disaster recovery procedures
- Completed and updated system documentation on all server based and critical installations.
