I was transferred into Siemens Business Services from Dept for National Savings as the result of an outsourcing exercise. During my time with Siemens I was employed initially as a member of their Year 2000 Project Team, a project that was initiated by National Savings, where my main responsibility was identifying all Third Party software products in use across the organisation, obtaining compliance testing and/or arranging for testing of products and applications to ensure compliance. Where no compliance could be proved alternative solution shad to be identified and arrangements made to put these in place. On completion of this project I moved onto the Front Line Support team where my role was supporting the newly introduced business applications, developed primarily using Visual Basic on a Windows NT platform, and the older legacy applications which had been developed using COBOL and Informix and were running on a mxture of ICl VME/B maniframe and Unix platforms.

PROJECT SUPPORT ANALYST

?Responsible for the progression of IT projects identified by Business & Account Managers by conducting Feasibility Studies
?Drafted the appropriate business & technical documentation for the projects
?Contacted 3rd party suppliers to arrange demonstrations of new software products
?Handled purchase and implementation of new software products and arranged user training
?Acted as initial point of contact for any usability problems new users encountered
?Provided guidance through the mentoring of users to enhance user confidence
?Liased extensively between users and suppliers to ensure all issues were rectified
?Successfully Project Managed smaller projects from conception to completion.

UNIX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

?Responsible for the day-to-day administration of Business Critical systems
