Returned to GSK for a global, multi-million pound project for the replacement of legacy LIMS.
Software Requirements documentation for a multi-million pound project to replace the legacy global LIMS systems that remain from the SKB/Glaxo merger. Based on the LabVantage Sapphire system, the new system is web-hosted and to be accessed ultimately by 43 manufacturing sites across the world. Entering the project at a very late & intense stage in requirements elicitation, I worked with the on-site business & vendor teams, principally producing requirements documentation for the Stability and Instrument Management modules - to tight deadlines, for the vendor's development team located in India. I was also involved, initially, in the review of scripts produced by the Indian Test group.
Past scientific knowledge aided the implementation of a LIMS for DNA Profiling. By education & influencing of stakeholders, the scope was extended to cover the RTA Alcohol Analysis unit, forming the strategy for a Corporate LIMS covering other laboratory services.
Other achievements include the introduction of the concept of the GAMP 4 validation approach with respect to evidential integrity and electronic records, scoping, requirements elicitation & UAT of diverse projects (such as a document management system for FOI and also an ITIL-compliant Service Desk), Business Modelling (Websphere Business Modeler) and XML schema design for customer interoperability (Rose). BA on MPS/FSS joint project for interoperability of exhibit/case management.
Introduced the IBM Rational Suite toolset, initially to manage the LIMS requirements process, extending to support the use of UML and develop the IT Dept's test management & testing capabilities. The latter includes Performance Testing. Additional initiatives comprised tool support, the tailoring of the Rational Unified Process (small project RUP), together with design & maintenance of a relevant intranet site (Dreamweaver) including an extensive knowledge base.
Role skills:
Assisting in implementation & giving consultancy, training and telephone support for various projects; on behalf of Beckman Coulter UK Ltd on occasional basis in UK, Germany and France. This gave plentiful opportunity to enjoy the growth of my daughter.
