2000 - 2002   Bizecom Ltd
As a co-founder of Bizecom Ltd. my roles and responsibilities were wide and varied, including Sales, Marketing, Project Management, Project Delivery, Website design, Client Support, Purchases and General Administration.

Instrumental in building the Business doubling the turnover year on year. Client base of 20+ businesses from a wide range of industry sectors.

March 2002 - Bizecom Ltd was awarded a 3 month contract by Knowledge Management Software plc (KMS) working alongside Etg and GTA in Australia, installing and configuring KMS?s Knowledge suite of products at two sites namely British American Tobacco Australasia ? Sydney, NSW and within the DMO of the Australian Department of Defence ? Canberra, ACT, during these two ?Proof of Concept? projects I was required to perform Knowledge Audits, and analysis of existing information for inclusion in the Knowledge bases.. Along with these two main projects, I was involved in pre-sales engagements, and delivery of subject matter and product demonstrations at seminars in Australia.
1999 - 1999   Triangle Computer Services
I was employed to provide RPG skills primarily for Triangle?s Northern clients; the position was to eventually manage a team of developers within the Northern Office based in Warrington. This I felt in my brief time with Triangle was not transpiring, and so I took the decision to resign.

During my brief time with Triangle I worked on two projects one was assisting in the Project to integrate the data from Web servers to back office systems for a new On-line bank. The second project was for a major Charity in particular integrating data received from fundraisers around the UK.
1985 - 1999   Kwik Save
Successfully analysed and amended all RPG bespoke code to ensure Year 2000 compliance of the software. The work covered all areas of the Business including Store Replenishment, Stock Control, Payroll and Financial interfaces. During the Project I analysed 6000 programs containing 6 million lines of code. The project was completed ahead of schedule and well below budget that was projected by an external Consultancy. During the project a developed a simple utility to assist in ageing the data whilst testing.

I worked closely with Andersen Consultants when they were employed by Kwik Save to analyse all aspects of the business to identify opportunities and improvements for the Business. My role was to provide data for analysis, short to medium term improvements to our systems to support the Program Objectives, and provide general system guidance and support to the team of Consultants. I was chosen for this role because of my experience and knowledge, and ability to provide prompt solutions to requests of this nature.

Managed a team of seven people, providing a pilot In - Store Processor (ISP) in one of Kwik Save Stores. This was a Windows NT based solution with a package of Applications designed and written by the team, the main features of this system was Point Of Sale integration, Sales Based Ordering for Chilled products, Damaged and Out of code product recording using a Hand Held Device for shop floor recording of data, and then interface software to download onto the ISP, and Stock Counting facility based on data dictated from Central head Office systems. Interfaces between the AS/400 and the ISP were also delivered which utilised a third party Polling package. The entire project required close liaison with third parties. The purpose of the Project was to check the feasibility of the concept of a back Office processor in each of the Kwik Save Stores, the concept was proven.

Sub - Project Manager, managing a team dedicated to the extension of the Group?s Store numbering fields in the Kwik Save files, I was responsible for identifying and amending the data within the Warehousing / Distribution systems. It was important that all Areas were delivered on time to prevent overall failure of the program; this was achieved successfully and within budget and projected time scale.

Devised and managed the delivery of AS/400 interface RPG interface software, this provided data transfer capabilities between the AS/400 Finance and Store replenishment systems and a Warehouse Management package on the RS/6000. This was achieved on time and within budget and allowed the depot to perform a ?Flowthru? method of store replenishment for the Short life chilled range of products, removing the need for dual handling of product and minimised inventory management of product.

Assisted in the production of System standards for the Systems Development department, with specific responsibility for the Analysis and design standards.

Designed and produced a solution to allow central replenishment of Short life chilled products, the benefits were to dispense with Van sales individually at Kwik Save shops, as a consequence reducing costs as supplier had a smaller fleet to maintain, sales optimisation was also achieved as product that was ordered was delivered to the stores. This solution was delivered within eight weeks of the requirement. reason for short time scale was supplier pressure.

Managed a small team to produce a system to control the purchasing and subsequent receipt of Imported goods and then the forwarding of these goods into the Kwik Save Warehouse network, the system allowed better tracking of product.


Provided interface capabilities between IBM ES/9000 (DPPX) and AS/400, this was required to enable the use of a Remote Warehouse Management system, this was installed into two of Kwik Save Warehouses.

June 1989 to January 1991 - Project Leader Kwik Save Stores Ltd.

Conducted successful migration exercise of several System 36 systems to AS/400.

Responsible for leadership of smaller projects, providing guidance to Analyst/Programmers and trainees in my charge.

Provided support to the Business in my designated area.

Major exercise to consolidate Kwik Save?s Product identification, and Supplier Identification structures. The exercise removed duplication and reduced system overheads and Business administration. During the exercise I developed RPG software to assist during the conversion process. The analysis phase involved intense study of Kwik Save Systems to identify where the Product and Supplier were used.

Provided a system to allow central distribution of liquor and tobacco products.
