Security Manager

For the past two years I been managing a global team charged with the development of security Policy and Standards and creation of a compliance framework for a major Managed Services Provider.

I have had a varied career to date having spent twelve years in law enforcement before entering the private sector and progressing from Investigations Management to Information Security consultancy and then on to management roles in that field. I have worked in cutting edge technical environments, highly sensitive customer-focused roles and interfaced with a range of sectors including financial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, government and aerospace.

In all those roles, I have taken a pragmatic approach in which security is not just a function mandating Best Practice and accountability, but an asset that, applied appropriately, can and should add value to the bottom line.

I am particularly interested in the commercial value that international accreditation can bring to a business and would be keen to manage a Programme aimed at the acquisition of such accreditation in Information Security Management, such as ISO17799 or SysTrust.
