Head of Equity Technology, Europe and Asia (Jan 2001 ? Dec 2002). Managed European and Asian Equity Technology development and support teams and represented Equity Technology to all European and Asian clients (equity traders, operations, risk management and finance).
? Established and maintained good relations and communication with clients and regional infrastructure technology managers and initiated weekly update meetings with those managers.
? Improved technology profile significantly by ensuring that the requirements and needs of equity clients were met in a quick and responsive manner.
? Set up, recruited and managed equity technology support team for Europe and Asia, ensuring full application support between 07h00 and 20h00. Established support procedures and automated support call logging and management via the intranet. Clients praised the speed and efficiency of the team to upper management.
? Managed 8 regional projects (4 concurrently), 3 of which resulted in one client?s performance improving over 130% and enabled another client access to a new revenue stream 6 months earlier, generating an increased revenue of over £200K.

Global Equity Derivatives Technology Technical Lead (June 1999 ? Dec 2000). Led Global Equity Derivatives Technology team on a day-to-day basis as well as software design and development.
? Established design guidelines and project coding standards (C++ and Java) for all technical aspects of Equity Derivatives development. Defined system architecture, design, technology and requirements for global projects.
? Established project tasks with the Project Manager, assigned tasks to other members of the development team, tracked and ensured completion of all development project tasks.
? Recruited, trained and mentored global development team members including performing code reviews for all project code. Also carried out performance reviews with all global developers.
? Designed (UML) and implemented (Java) a Trade Entry system using a distributed object architecture with RMI, JFC Swing and a persistence framework mapping Java business objects to a Sybase database using JDBC.
? Designed and implemented the Equity Technology web site with automated weekly progress reports.
1998 - 1999   CIBC World Markets
Equity Derivatives Technology Senior Software Engineer (June 1998 ? June 1999). Provided ongoing support and new feature development for the Imagine Trading System in C++, including the addition of a number of new instrument types and pricing models. Also performed Sybase administration duties during DBA absence.
? Designed and implemented (Java) application to extract data from trading systems globally and report liquidity to the FSA.
? Added a convertible bond instrument to the trading system (C++) using MONIS Convertible libraries as the pricing model.
? Developed an application (Perl) to re-denominate all Equity Derivatives trades globally from Euro-In currencies to the Euro.
? Developed (C++) an equity derivative Profit and Loss report explaining how much of the Profit and Loss was due to delta, gamma, theta, rho, dividends, Fx rates etc.
? Developed a number of cgi/perl scripts and HTML interfaces for clients to automate laborious manual processes.
1996 - 1998   Mobile Systems International
Senior Software Engineer/Team Leader. Led two separate development teams and maintained the role of lead developer and designer.
? Mentored team members, conducted performance reviews, detailed planning of feasibility and implementation phases for 4 projects. Took several projects through the full development lifecycle delivered on time and within budget.
? Designed (Syntropy/OMT) and implemented (C++ and UNIX) new features for flagship cellular planning and optimisation product. Produced all key documentation for 4 projects.
? Co-ordinated all recruitment of software engineers for the software department as well as interviewing at all levels - telephone, technical and management interviews.
1993 - 1996   GEC Marconi Ltd
Research Engineer. Designed (OOA) and implemented (C++) various network management applications both narrowband and broadband which required close liaison with clients. Demonstrated and presented project progress to European partners regularly and also submitted a narrowband Network Management patent.
