IT support specialist

 

I have been working in the Communications and Information Technology industry for 6 years. During this time I have progressed from Helpdesk Technical Support Analyst to National Field Engineer along with supervising a small team. I have in-depth knowledge of most Microsoft Operating Systems and applications, back office and database applications.

Currently I am working towards a Microsoft Qualification (MCP) which I feel will be beneficial, both to myself and to the company I work for. I hold a full UK driving license, am a car owner.

Job responsibilities
· Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support (including desktop support) to around 500 users Nationwide.

Job Title: 1st/2nd Level 24 hour International Technical Support
Job Responsibilities
· Proactive 1st and 2nd level support via the extended enterprise helpdesk (Office Support, Application support, PC and E-mail support and call out support).
· Effective customer management to understand problems, work issues, log assign and track calls ensuring they are actioned by the relevant specialists defusing potentially difficult situations.
· Manage the call escalation process ensuring preliminary diagnostics are carried out and calls escalated to the appropriate support specialists.
· Perform system admin functions: New Logons, password changes, mail profiles etc in a Windows NT / 95 environment.
· Complete Network back-ups on a daily basis
· Distribution lists management
· Carry out routine system checks, monitor helpdesk queues
· Ensure and maintain the integrity of systems (Privileges, Permissions etc)
· Liase between support teams and keep customers / users informed of all developments.
· Provide detailed daily hand-over reports.
