I was sent by the US based company to Brussels to help startup the European headquarters of Wam!Net. Daily tasks included monitoring, repairing and overseeing installation of the wide area network. Troubleshoot any problems with hardware and software and liaise with Field Engineers when necessary using internal Netcool monitoring and Databases.

At a higher level, tasks also involved assisting Second line support in troubleshooting and a more technical level of training.

? Equipment used: SGI 02, 0200, 02000 IRIX 6.5.x. Cisco 2500, 2600, 7500.

I was also monitoring and maintaining Mission Critical equipment on site and I was also part of the Security team, my area being the and face recognition access readers.

I try to use pro-active leadership to fix problems before they start. It was requested from customers than an extra tier of support was needed in Europe. I was chosen by the parent company to take the lead with this and have grown the team with specialists in the particular areas needed.

I have been specialising in SGI IRIX for the past 3 years and over that time completed the SGI courses above. With these courses plus over 9 years with Windows and Macintosh operating systems I have helped out in any areas where needed.

In the last year I had a team of 5 people that make up the 3rd line technical support group dealing with the more complex issues that were SGI or Cisco / networking based and Internal Support for 4 joint companies reporting directly to the Technical Director.
