2003 -    Turquells Ltd
Due to lastminute.com purchase of Holiday Autos in April 2003, made redundant in July 2003.
Started my own consultancy practice, TURQUELLS Ltd.
Projects to date include:

 Major Timeshare and property development group, Anfi Del Mar, based in Gran Canaria and part of the TUI group of leisure companies. Reviewed and provided recommendations for new Enterprise Architecture and software for future business strategy alongside Deloitte Consulting from Madrid

 Consulting on projects for Holiday Autos on integration of their IT into the lastminute.com IT infrastructures.

 Consulting on a new joint venture company that will create inventory management and reservations software for the leisure market. This will involve development and support being supplied offshore in India.
1999 - 2003   Holiday Autos
Group IT Director member of Board Executive.

Holiday Autos is the world?s largest leisure car rental provider.

 Responsible for all world wide IT strategy and development
 Created common standards across all geographical offices including VPN networks, Local networks and desktop software as far afield as Brazil, Russia and Australia.
 Centralised five disparate systems into one common Car Rental application providing a single back office and financial process with consolidated statistics and MIS reporting. The central system access was through one common Holiday Autos Internet browser.
 Centralisation created economies of scale by reducing duplication of data and resources required to support five different systems as well as improving the accuracy and timeliness of information to both Group and local management.
 Responsible for implementation of call centre technologies including Automatic Call Distribution systems with complex skills based routing.
 Selected, implemented and further developed applications and processes for a new Holiday Hotels start up company providing WEB and call centre based booking methods. Completed project to live implementation within 15 weeks.
1997 - 1999   Interval International
European Operations Director member of Executive Team.

Interval International is a large Timeshare Exchange and Leisure company with Group Headquarters based in Miami USA.


 Responsible for Reservation centres across all European offices with attention to staffing structures, customer service, training and sales performance.
 Developed a business strategy to provide support for all European affiliated timeshare resorts with automated sales aids and internal reservations services where required.
 Built an IT team to support the European office network.
 Designed a One Stop Shop interface to merge both the exchange application in Miami and local travel applications into one transaction. This process increased sales, customer service and satisfaction as well as reducing transaction costs and resource.
 Responsible for building a centralised management information process with consolidation up to group level.
 Implemented the network strategy to link all European offices into both the UK head office and Group offices in Miami via Wide Area Networks with Frame Relay connections.
1995 - 1997   AL Solutions Ltd
Managing Director ( my own company ).

 Provided general IT Consulting, outsourced IT operations management, Business Process Re-design and network design.
 Developed package software for Inventory Management and Real time reservations applications specific to the Leisure and Timeshare industry. Package successfully sold into a number of Timeshare and Leisure companies.
1986 - 1994   RCI International Ltd
European IT Director Executive Board member.

RCI is the largest Timeshare Exchange and leisure company in the world servicing over 3 million members with both exchange and travel.

 Defined the overall European IT strategy to link up to ten European reservations offices via Wide Area Network leased line technology into both the European central systems in the UK and the core exchange reservation system in Indianapolis USA.
 Defined the business and IT strategy to implement one of the first leisure one stop shopping applications in the UK by providing multi access in one interface to exchange, flights and hotels. This increased sales revenues by 15% and decreased staff levels by over 20%, whilst at the same time improving customer service satisfaction.
 Seconded to head up the Group IT division of 140 employees in the USA to further develop the one stop shopping principle as a world wide solution.
 Headed a major Business Process Re-design project for the European business involving up to 70 project members. Radical changes were made to the Membership and Resort Services processes saving over £2 million per annum in the Resort Service process alone.
