2002 - 2003   Missing Link
Responsible for the delivery of managed services to healthcare, local government and the private sector.

A successful route into small to medium business is reducing the cost of WAN and telephony links. Advanced telecommunication and data technology equips service providers with the ability to consolidate critical services over a single link (incorporating resiliency).

Designing and delivering solutions from a small business with 5 users to a large enterprise organization with multiple sites. The technology is there to serve all.

Implementation of sufficient bandwidth connectivity to address anticipated traffic volume and application response requirements, the construction of the LAN to interconnect voice and data throughout the campus, leased cost routing and prioritization of voice packets for IP telephony and of course security, firewall, virus protection and support.

Exposure to Satellite Technology with Astra and Aramiska and wireless technologies for the construction industry and data warehousing.

Formed alliance with Hand Held Products (Welch Allyn) to deploy wireless bar code scanning solutions to significant distribution / data warehousing clients.
2000 - 2002   Lucent Technologies
Responsible for the multi-national technical support of product and services.

To establish a structured support mechanism to cope with exceedingly high volume product sales and support whilst adapting to what is known in marketing as the ?Tornado Phase? (every potential client required our services, with significant resource issues).
Our support infrastructure would incorporate Europe, ASIA and North America.

Directly responsible for ensuring our field based application engineers working directly for corporate businesses of the stature the likes of IBM, Toshiba, DELL, had access both centralized and remote to a competent, professional and responsive 3 tier support network.

During planning allowances and commitments were made to ensure our field service, sales & marketing representatives had the correct information and assistance available at all times to create or maintain business relationships.

Hardware and Software development skills obtained during this period application support for device integration duties working alongside Microsoft WHQL engineers and IBM.

Service Level Agreements, ensuring our 3rd party providers delivered our requirements on time and in a particular fashion.

Technical and project management role at board room level, well traveled and well educated in providing the complete solution.
1999 - 2000   3COM
In January of 1999, I was offered the opportunity to work in The Netherlands, initially for 3 months.

Although my background to this point was mainly in providing inactive services, my overall career development plan was to incorporate technical and active equipment skills.

I decided to take the decision of parting from my family short term to obtain these skills for the development of our futures.

I was initially recruited to provide technical support services in Central Europe to the SMEE market. Primarily Router, Switch, Firewall, and IP Telephony (IPT).

3 Months became 6 months until the company realized my potential for resolving complex solutions in a structured manner. I was invited to make the permanent move to Holland in November 1999 and accepted without haste to provide my family with a life changing experience that was simply too good to miss.

Whilst dealing with the systems software developers based in Boston (MA) I was invited to travel to the USA to establish a relationship with essentially the decision makers capable of reducing our case load by creating and implementing a support structure and escalation procedure through process management.

Thus resulting in the rectification of the minor software / hardware issues, enabling the team to focus essentially on resolving critical service issues.
1998 - 1999   CSC - British Aerospace
In 1998 I was invited to join CSC Direct after deploying a number of complex network solutions for them whilst representing British Telecom for PM Communications.

My remit was to design a migration strategy to replace existing legacy systems with up to date IP communications to the production environments. This program would directly affect the construction of Euro fighter and AirBUS.

Analytical and practical skills are essential when dealing with a live production hanger housing 200 employees. Disruption to production is unacceptable to any business; therefore preparation and planning are key.

Initially I looked at the critical systems and applications the business required to remain operational, to facilitate the refurbishment program we created a replication of their environment by providing a temporary holding area with access to the same resources and services and moved their individual belongings over a weekend, On the Monday the employees would make their way to their temporary office space to conduct their work as normal, same telephone extensions, e-mail and applications.

This allowed us to refurbish their regular workspace with plumbing, lighting, air-conditioning, power, telecommunications and data services, Migration of legacy services was assured to due a rigorous research and development program completed prior to program commencement, a pre-active measure initiated by myself to ensure maximum productivity. The project was completed successfully over 4 phases.
