Business Information Technology Graduate

The BSc Business Information Technology program is a business degree with emphasis on IT. The course focuses on aspects such as Business Decision Modelling, Systems Analysis, Design and Implementation, Information Management Systems, Decision Support Systems, Corporate Strategy, Project Management and Networking. Will be available to start employment 14th June 2004 due to University commitments.

ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS.

? I have been involved in the Sea Cadets for ten years where I am now a member of staff. During this time I have won 13 gold boat-handling medals, 4 of which are at national level. In addition to this I have trained a Mechanical Engineering Team which won the competition at Area Level and am completing the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

? Other interests include: listening to, playing and writing guitar music, as well as attending a local gym for weight training.

OTHER AWARDS AND CERTIFICATES.

? Welcome Host Customer Care Course- Cumbria Tourist Board.
? Young Enterprise- Production Director- Passed YE Examination.
? RSA Typing.
? Various national boathandling qualifications, e.g. Assistant Sailing Instructor & Canoe Supervisor.
? Basic Health and Safety Certificate.

PERSONAL SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES.

? The Young Enterprise programme provided a valuable opportunity to develop both business and personal skills. I used informal discussion and formal meetings to communicate between the members of the company, the link teacher and advisers. I used conclusions from past experiences to plan and improve future operations.

? After being part of the Sea Cadet Association for nine years as both a cadet and member of staff, I have had opportunities and the formal training to develop skills and qualities such as: leadership, discipline, communication and instructional/teaching techniques.

CAREER AIMS.

? Work as part of a team designing and developing business systems.

? To be involved in the delivery of training.

? Maybe use some aspects of computer programming.

? To gain Technical experience by providing technical support.

? To Eventually Work in Project Management or Consultancy
