A hard working and experienced Systems Administrator and Help Desk Support Professional with a broad range of experience largely focusing on the Microsoft Back Office suite running on Windows NT and 2000. Other responsibilities have included providing a technical consultancy service for internal departments, desktop support and future proofing of new applications and technologies. Proven ability to work methodically in a pressured environment as part of an international Network Support Team providing both remote access multi-sites support as well as on-call, onsite technical support. I am MCP and CCNA certified and continue to self-finance continuous studies to enhance my professional qualifications. My current studies include working towards MCSE accreditation

  • Consultancy and hands on technical support to all Filodoro Calze users (more than 250 end users) of all levels concerning hardware and software for present and future projects. In many cases this consultancy covers a wide range of issues from research through to implementation.

  • Supporting, help-desk troubleshooting and performance monitoring on the company servers running NT Server, Exchange 5.5, SQL7 and Windows 2000. There are 11 servers on various platforms ranging from Windows NT, 2000 and Novell to specialist (Italian) legacy platforms

  • Work methodically in a pressured environment as part of an international Network Support Team providing both remote access multi-sites support as well as on-call, onsite technical support.

  • Expert troubleshooting the network and tracing faults relating to networking issues ranging from network cards to hubs and routers.

  • Support the company Internet, Intranet, Anti-Virus, Firewall, E-Mail and all security and user access rights.

  • Planning as part of a team of three, the future IT/ Networking and technology infrastructure strategy for the Company both in terms of hardware and software and how to synchronise existing technology with the global corporate IT/ Networking set-up of the Sara Lee Corporation. As such I am fully conversant with Microsoft Operating Systems, Novell and Lotus Notes and have a good understanding of current/new tools and how they interact in mixed multi-platform environments/ systems.

  • Ensure daily backups and Anti-Virus and Firewall software is in place.

  • Configure, install and assemble Compaq racking and Compaq servers.

  • Designed the network topology, systems and desk top technologies / requirements of this young fast-growing Specialist Technology Recruitment Consultants Company

  • Researched on the various specialist recruitment software and systems and advised the co-founders on the pros and cons of each database system. After my analysis and recommendations the company chose Goldmine with Engaugeä devised by a then start-up company called Colonial Software

  • I was consequently responsible for all aspects of training and applications support of the company?s employees on all applications and bespoke software, and was responsible for all licensing and software upgrades.

  • Desktop & server support running Windows NT, SQL Server 7, Exchange 5.5 and IIS.

  • Network Engineer for the company working with Cisco routers, hubs, UPS, switchboxes and general networking hardware in supporting the LAN and WAN links.

  • Designed and implemented an emergency disaster recovery plan.

  • Designed a helpdesk for internal and external support/ back-up and data -synchronisation (remote-based support of the directors / senior consultants whom work from home the evenings and weekends) and administered various installations and rollouts.

    As a continuation of my research I worked for the Russian Scientific Institute of Agriculture, supervising a multi-disciplinary team of seven agriculturists on the effects of heavy metals on agricultural products, to conclusively determine the effect of microelements on the productivity of green vegetables and their content in the soil.
