An enthusiastic, ambitious, results orientated IT manager with excellent experience in all aspects of providing and managing IT business solutions to a variety of high profile clients in both public and private sectors.

I am a good communicator. My career, at the interface of business and IT, has demanded that I can communicate well to people at a variety of different levels and I feel that I am able to clearly explain complex ideas to non-IT professionals especially.

In terms of other ?soft? business skills, I feel I am able to motivate my team successfully and my style of management is firm, encouraging and democratic. I see developing my team, both as a team and as individuals, as very important. This is carried out within the realms of effective risk management, where decisions are only made through an analysis of all available information. This approach also extends to the general parameters of my role. For example, proposals are analysed and a decision is only made when the likely impact of undertaking the proposal is defined (including financial, logistic, personnel considerations).


I am a self-starter: I started my own business when I graduated and I have continued (on and off) to do consultancy work. (I am willing to suspend this on demand.) I take active ownership of my professional development. I actively initiate on-going professional development. For example, I regularly use in-house self-paced learning courses to enhance my skills. These are completed in my own time. This coming September I am looking forward to starting a post-graduate degree (distance learnt) in IT Management, before commencing, in the near future, an MBA.

Planning, designing and managing software development projects, for various high profile clients, where the specifications have run on varying budgets and for differing numbers of users (up to fifteen thousand). Targets (measured quantitatively) have either been met or surpassed, with a very high level of satisfaction from clients.

The recruiting, leading, managing and the motivating of a support team of 14 multi-national IT specialists; being responsible for general line management duties, including pay reviews. Of key importance in my role is ensuring that I have a team who are highly skilled and that we are able to provide flexible, effective business solutions (with the main component of this being software development), which are highly customer focussed.
