I have been a software developer for several years now during which time I have developed in many different languages (VB, VBA / Access, C, 4GLs) on various operating systems (Windows, Unix, DOS etc.). I have always been well able to communicate and integrate with teams both large and small and have been exposed to the full life cycle of software development.

2004 - 2005	Computer Intelligent Solutions
Self employed. I designed, developed and tested an e-commerce website (me2youtranslations) for my wife?s translation business. Development used Dreamweaver MX, MS Access 2000, SQL, ASP and Javascript. Other miscellaneous applications were written in VB / MS Access (with VBA) to assist in the business.
2003 - 2004	JMP Electronics
Self employed. I built an MS Access 2000 solution for JMP Electronics Ltd. This involved the full software life cycle including ascertaining system requirements, design, prototyping and building code / queries / reports / macros with substantial use of VBA and SQL before full testing. An extensive data cleanup and conversion using Excel VBA scripting allowed for the migration of the multiple, complex Excel spreadsheets containing the existing data.
2000 - 2002	G. O?Driscoll and Co.
Worked jointly on a project with G. O?Driscoll and Co. developing a Visual Basic 6 / Access / Excel application employing Neural Networks to try and predict financial market trends. VB, Access VBA, Excel VBA, ADO and ODBC techniques were used for development.
1998 - 2003	Lloyds of London
Several contracts at Lloyd?s of London (I contracted directly to Lloyd?s and later to Steria UK after their IT department was outsourced) maintaining their client server claims and settlements systems applications (COSS). Work involved using Visual Basic, MS Access, C, Oracle 7, PL-SQL, Unix shell scripting and 4GLs all on a variety of operating systems such as AIX Unix, NCR Unix, Windows NT and Windows 95. All areas of the software development lifecycle were undertaken throughout my contracts including fresh development, live support, requirements analysis, testing/QA and systems administration. A final, major project was the extraction of data for loading into a new replacement system. Comprehensive out of hours support was also provided throughout all of my contracts for overnight batch work.
